1. JAMES MONROE2 MORREN (JOHN "LADDIE"1) was born October-14-1853 in Dardanelle, Yell County, Arkansas1, and died December-24-1931 in Eastland, TX. He married MARGARET IDA RAMSAY May-23-1880 in Comanche County TX, daughter of ARTHUR RAMSAY and HARRIETT GILLIS. She was born December-17-1858 in Harrison County, TX, and died 1905 in Eastland, TX1.

Notes for JAMES MONROE MORREN:

James (Jim) was born in 1853. His family moved to Texas in the 1860's. They came by wagon drawn by oxen and settled in Comanche County. Safona (Jim's mother) couldn't read or write, but she knew all the edible plants that grew in the pastures. She made her own baking powder and coffee. She dried bans, okra and fruit. They were farmers. Jim and his brothers grew up in Comanche County.

Jim married Margaret Ramsey in 1880 in Comanche County. Ten children were born to this union: Mary I., Laura Viola, Lela Mack, John Frank, James Arthur, Maragaret Effie, Ollie Safrona, Dora Alice, David L. and William R.

In the early 1900's, they moved to Eastland, County. and lived near Kokoma and Gorman. Safrona moved to Eastland County and made her home with her son Jim. Margaret Morren died in the early 1900's at age 47 and is buried in the Simpson Cemetery. Safrona was noted for making pickles and preserves. She spent a lot of time going to the neighboring houses to make pickles and preserves.

She was making pickles out of poke weed stalks, and when Jim saw what she was doing, he told her that she was going to poison all of them. She told him that he had been eating the pickles all of his life.

Safrona died in 1908 and is buried in the Simpson Cemetery.

Marriage Notes for AUBRA DESHAZO and SUSIE WHITEHEAD:

Dean and Susie did not have any children. They did have to loving pets. Malty Coco Fur Whitehead DeShazo - a white toy Maltese and Buddog DeShazo a sweet and loving Spanish Cocker - golden brown in color. Malty is 9 years old (born February 10, 1990). He and his parents are registered. Susie got Malty as a gift from a former friend after her mother passed away in December. Malty was the smallest of the litter and because of a birth defect (one rib had been damaged during birth) the breeder was not sure that he (Malty) would live. After seeing Malty, Susie fell in love with him and that's the end of the story. Malty is very health and always hungry. He loves to play and eat (especially table food). Bud on the other hand is a very laid back type of guy. His favorite toy is a little green ball. He carries the ball around in his mouth unknown to others around him a periodically squeezes it. His greatest love is his blanket. Bud has a romance with this blanket that no one will ever be able to describe.

Dean loves animals of all types. Since moving to Merced he has set up the back patio for the Birds. There are six sets of Doves that enjoy the birdseed and peanut hearts. There are blue birds and others who visit this area continuously. Let's not forget the Finches. He also enjoys cutting the grass and pruning the roses (yea, right).
